Hermosa Beach was originally part of the ten-mile Ocean frontage of Rancho Sausal Redondo. When Hermosa came into being, through the courtesy of the Hermosa Beach Land and Water Co. There was no Manhattan Beach. Redondo Beach was a busy seaport.
